Christmas Fair

Here's Jo Eliot in her Fairtrade apron with Rob Golesworthy the Deputy Mayor of Hay, showing off the town's Fairtrade accreditation certificate as Rob officially opened the Fair. "A fair deal, all along the line, from consumer to producer," he said. "That's what Fairtrade means to me."
As usual there were some lovely things on display, with lots of Christmas tree decorations in felt from Zimele, rugs and hand spun yarn from South America, Tools for Self Reliance, Love Zimbabwe's pottery, printed fabrics and metal garden ornaments, chocolate, felt slippers, hats and mittens and gloves, wallets made from re-cycled car tyres and more. And, of course, there were mulled wine and mince pies from the Fairtrade committee.
The red, green and gold wrapping paper at the Hay2Timbuktu stall sold out - one of the three designs incorporated the Hay Town Clock.
